Mustang II Independent Front Suspension

There are lots of companies like FatMan Fabricators who make kits to put Mustang II IFS in for 49-54 Chevs and Cdn Pontiacs (my ride). I have nothing against Mustang II IFS, I just wanted to keep the car completely GM - my personal preference. Naturally, that attitude leads to lots of work and time spent.

Just for the record, it would be a lot easier and quicker to go with a Mustang II kit, it would probably cost around $1500 to $2000 Cdn when all done. Two companies that provide bolt-in Mustang II IFS are RB's Obsolete Parts and Chassis Engineering Inc. Both are excellent kits and would take about a month to put together. So if you're like me, you can spend two years machining your own custom front end or spend some dollars on a kit. In a month, you can have an IFS front end that will put you on the road fast.

There are some generic kits that are weld on cross-members. They can be made to fit a number of oddball frames. So you can custom fit it to that unique ride that you have.
